About This Service
Variables is a personal project developed and operated by an individual (Johannes Klumpe), not a company. By using this service, you acknowledge that you are using software created and maintained by a single person in their personal capacity.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Variables, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
Service Description
Variables is a personal data logging application that allows you to track variables, log values, and query your data. The service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
No Warranty
Variables is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the service
- Warranties that defects will be corrected
You use this service at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Johannes Klumpe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Loss of use of the service
- Any damages arising from service interruptions, bugs, or errors
- Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your data
In no event shall the total liability exceed the amount you have paid for the service (if any), or €50, whichever is greater.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring that your use of the service complies with applicable laws
- Backing up your own data if you require guaranteed preservation
- The content and accuracy of the data you log
Data and Backups
While reasonable efforts are made to maintain the service and protect your data, you acknowledge that:
- No backup or data recovery is guaranteed
- Data loss may occur due to technical failures, errors, or other circumstances
- You should maintain your own backups of any data that is important to you
- The export functionality is provided to help you maintain copies of your data
Service Availability
This is a personal project. As such:
- The service may experience downtime without notice
- Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time
- The service may be discontinued at any time, with reasonable notice where possible
- No service level agreement (SLA) is provided
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Use the service to store or transmit malicious code
- Resell or redistribute the service without permission
- Use the API in a way that places excessive load on the service
AI-Generated Content
Variables uses AI services to generate SQL queries and parse voice input. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated queries and responses may contain errors
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content
- The accuracy of AI features is not guaranteed
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Johannes Klumpe from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
Modifications to Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Significant changes will be communicated where possible.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Germany.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
